Soy Wax Guidelines

Soy waxes have continued to increase in popularity over the past few years among candle-makers. Some benefits of using soy wax over paraffin wax include the following:

  • Soy wax is a completely natural and renewable resource
  • Non-toxic
  • Burns clean
  • Produces measurably less soot than other waxes. When burned correctly it is virtually soot-free
  • The flake form in which soy waxes come is easier to measure and work with than traditional paraffin slabs
  • Helps support the American farmer
  • Candle spills clean up easier. Simply use soap and hot water to get the wax out of carpets or upholstery
  • Longer burn time than with paraffin waxes

We carry 2 different brands of soy waxes. They are Naturewax by Cargill, and Golden Brands Golden Wax Products. We carry several types of these soy waxes so you will have a variety to choose from depending on which one best fits your needs. Below we will discuss the specific characteristics of each of these soy waxes.

Naturewax C-3 premium wax is a soy wax for container candles and tealights and is formulated to deliver top quality and excellent performance. Superior fragrance-holding qualities produce candles with a pleasing cold throw scent that attracts consumers and stimulates impulse purchases at the point of sale. Plus, they throw their aroma further when burning, which fosters increased customer satisfaction and brand loyalty. The C-3 single-pour container wax also offers excellent adhesion to containers.

These waxes are used in candles, lotions, lip balms, and many other non-edible uses. We currently carry four Golden Wax Soy products, two of which are pure soy container waxes and two of which are enhanced soy container waxes.

Golden Wax has two pure soy container waxes that contain no additives and are both FDA-approved and Kosher-certified. They blend well with beeswax, paraffin, slack wax, and microcrystalline waxes. These are GW402 and GW415
